DOG FRIENDLY Oregon Garden

Spread the love

I like to go to the OREGON GARDEN in Silverton, Oregon. Besides the wonderful drive through the countryside, there are so many things to sniff and explore at the Garden!…Try 80 Acres with over 20 Specialty Gardens.  We’ve taken friends with us several times this month.  In the Summer we try to go on a weekday and in the morning before it get’s too hot.

One of the things I like to do is walk through the fountain to cool off. Believe me, Summer is not the time for a Black Fur Coat!

There is also a cooling station in the PET FRIENDLY GARDEN where I get a drink of water and Carole uses the hose to spray me down!

I’m good at finding shady spots to rest.  And, Carole brings a special Water Bottle just for me.

We like to eat lunch at both the Seasonal Garden Cafe which is located inside the Visitor’s Center (we sit at the outdoor picnic tables,) and the Patio at the Oregon Garden Resort Restaurant.  (The picture below is at the Oregon Garden Resort..that’s me in my cooling vest by the table, and also looking back toward the Garden) You can walk through the Garden to the Resort Restaurant.  Note: In order to get back into the Garden, you have to show your admission to the Resort Front Desk and they will give you a keycard to let you back into the Garden.

Besides Eating (And, I’m always happy to get a treat,) there are lots of great things to see in the Garden.  Here are just a few of the interesting and fun things we saw: Beautiful Zinnias in the SILVERTON MARKET GARDEN, the Pot Family in the CHILDREN’S GARDEN, an unusual Agave in bloom that planted itself in the CONIFER GARDEN, and assortment of wildlife:  Bees, Butterflies, Dragonflies and if you’re lucky, like we were, you may see a Doe and her Fawn on the OAK GROVE TRAIL!
